During the Silence

During the Silence

Alone in a room

staring at a blank wall

over time the paper becomes ornate

with design

that tells me

that it’s time

to abandon this life

and move on to the next.

Time stands still

and is quiet

the stream transcends the universe

as I walk in a dream-like state

to the end of the

world.

And back.

The best excuse

is no excuse.

for we need none but to

escape

the ruse of time and life:

to live the better way.

Time rules

all things

unless

we command it to

stop.

Then we have freedom

to live our lives

free from pain

of reality

While others groan

for youth lost

to eternity.

  1. The reality of depression is captured vividly in this piece. As is the endless struggle when warring with the darkness and despair that lingers deep inside. Well penned.
