Impressions

There is a new harsh panorama jammed between my eyelids

No more spectral trees with thick roots artfully frayed
or roses that redden the hands

Paranormal doodles on walls and meaningful mandalas
cast warnings of doom as solid as boulders

It's art to the last degree in tongues of truth on the edge of a cliff

It's as though a rhinoceros' horn is breaking through my cerebral cortex
in a surreal context
and I can't even close my eyes
for how filled they are
