Conversation With Trees

Conversations with Trees

I’m dancing with your ghost again.

A flash of aquamarine in your eyes

that isn’t there.

I’m listening to old songs again,

the lyrics pumping through every vein.

A timid rabbit trots an uncertain path.

A nose full of curiosity

and legs poised for danger.

A real delight amongst the dreams

that never bloomed.

I’m walking home alone again,

with visions of you fading,

amongst ancient trees.
