Upon Discovering the
Interrobang
I’ve long since mastered
the art
of feigning surprise. My pen gasps,
of feigning surprise. My pen gasps,
shouts in the same tired
way as everyone else’s.
But once, someone had
the nerve
to dream, to form beauty out of the aether,
to dream, to form beauty out of the aether,
to leave our curveless
hearts to stand in shock.
I’ve written plenty,
but I’ve never had that courage
or such a talent for naming things.
