Romancing Like Alice
I feel like Alice who fell in a pit,
And went to a magical wonderland,
I, too, fell but in love with you
and
Reached a place I never planned
It was a terrain of sweet dreams,
A frenzied land of desires
Where first hint of romance I felt
And touched the passionate fires
This happened when by chance I
Looked in your eyes and evanesced,
Detached from ground realities,
In the world of fantasy I entered
Your eyes were the portal where
I moved in and quickly vanished
Into exquisite Eden garden, which
For me with love was furnished
Your laughing eyes invite me
To the dimly star- lit night sky
They whisper softly suggesting
Me to spread my wings and fly
The magic of your eyes inspires
A divine love in my heart
I dream and yearn without fear
It’s your gift of a new start

Sudha Dixit, was born and brought up
in UP. Presently settled in Bangalore.. She is doing what she always wanted to
do - painting landscapes and portraits & writing poetry / articles on net
and various magazines, including print media. She looks at nature with myopic
eyes & paints it wearing tinted glasses, with poetry in her heart. Poetry
just happens. It acts as catharsis in her life, removing the toxin from her
