The Depths Below

The Depths Below

The flat sea calls your name

with a roar of waves

scraping your ear drums.

It rudely tosses you aside

with perverse strength

and taps on your skull.

A flock of birds sing out

and watch you sinking

to the depths below.

You are born a mermaid

from the depths of the

sea, a siren whose

song hypnotizes and

lures fishermen to

their graves in the sea.
