Three Imaginary Toys

Three Imaginary Toys

Three imaginary toys

follow me around,

a wooden horse,

a spacewoman,

and a slinky with a dog’s head.

I drive around the block

and they are there

not far behind.

I cannot tell if I am

dreaming or awake.

I see them morning till

night. I see them

even when I’m taking

a bath or shower.

I don’t know what this means.

The wooden horse is

white, with big blue eyes,

and a silver saddle.

It does not make a sound

when it walks or trots.

The spacewoman is out

of this world, she’s got

long black hair and tight

fitting spacesuit. All she

says is get some help.

The slinky dog barks at me.

It wants me to walk him

around the block. It does

not poo but pees a lot

in rainbow colored drops.
