The Filigree of Life

The Filigree of Life

Engraved in the midnight sky

The stars and planets

Outline the universe

Projecting the future

Onto the darkened screen of night

Millennia of patterns

Recorded by history

As the boundaries reshape the zodiac

Forecasting evolution

As light-years draft schematics

Of time past and time to be told

Stories in a melting pot

Of liquid iron

Molded into bars like a skeleton

To be wrought by a blacksmith

Into the filigree of life
