Swallowed Universe 




I once knew a man 

who swallowed

the whole universe

 

and the stars with it

 

everything darkened

and the city lamps had to glow

even brighter

 

only then we realized

he is no different from us

just his shadow  so much bigger

  

Samo Kreutz 

 

Samo Kreutz lives in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Besides poetry (which he has been writing since he was eight years old), he writes novels, short stories and haiku. He is the author of ten books in Slovene, all published by the Ekslibris, publishing house in Ljubljana and three in English (they are haiku collections, one is titled The Stars for Tonight, the second A Time Different from Ours, and the last No Bigger Than A Crumb, all published by Cyberwit.net from India, and are still available at Amazon). His recent work has appeared on international websites (and journals), such as Ariel Chart: International Literary Journal, Cattails: the journal of the United Haiku & Tanka Society, Cold Moon Journal, Kingfisher Journal, Lothlorien Poetry Journal, The Heron's Nest, Tsuri-doro – a small journal of haiku and senryu, and others.
