A Refreshing Example

A Refreshing Example

The sidewalk visibility of huddled masses,

lingering within dust and gloom.

   nnnnnnnnn

The character of monarchs,

both divine and sage,

seen imperious upon their

succession of thrones and pictures,

including the god of storms.

Their graceless charades

disarranged into columns lying askew.

Gold, silver, bronze, cedar runes inlaid,

eroding off the page,

achievements that perished,

melted by bitter tears,

trying to be recast to retain timeworn shapes.

We require some adjustment of emotional balance.

It’s the vivid expression of love

when we humanize the frail.
