Lying Mouth
I kiss him and spit,
turn words to
water faucet
and wash my mouth
of him
I am sure he is
lying
You see,
I may have my
father’s eyes,
unfocused and
forgiving,
but,
I have too my
mother’s tongue
It is a quick,
sharp thing
that knows all to
well the bitter taste of deceit
