Delirium Through the Drained Glass

Delirium Through The Drained Glass

A significant volume of heady wine,

consumed over a vast amount of time,

gives more than a passing flirtation

to darker moments.

There seems little doubt

that innermost clamor

has the power

to cause psychic strife.

Rudely shattered dreams,

seen across the lens

of a creeping shadow,

even in daylight,

signals the beginning of the end,

sends the mind

through deliriously strange leaps,

into a circus of the grotesque,

drains away

one’s most useful faculties

until there’s nothing left to lose.

  1. A true poet can distill the drama of the human condition. You do humanity justice.
