No One Knows
A Shoe,
it's all that was left behind
Its wearer lost, dead
no one knows
he may have survived
or lost a parent
or a sibling, an aunt
no one knows
was he on the bridge,
or caught in the stampede
made it back home
no one knows
he will become a number in files
negligence, corruption, declared an accident
is there hope for justice
no one knows
those responsible, close to the ruler, will walk away
for accountability is for the weak
will we learn
no one knows
