Maybe Someday

Maybe Someday

Maybe someday,
I don’t have to look over the shoulder,
For choosing my words.

Maybe someday,
There won’t be consequences,
For speaking my mind.

Maybe someday,
The amendments, promises of expression,
Will not ring hollow to me.

Maybe someday,
Example will not be made,
For a difference in opinion.

Maybe someday,
Offence will not be taken,
For penning the truth.

Maybe someday,
In this land I love,
The pen will be mightier than sword.

  1. The media is fond of point out the miracle of India. I do not dispute this but remind people that progress has a price and usually those in charge leave many behind in order to achieve their goals. The poet doesn't stand alone.
